What We DoIt all began with a trip to Lesotho. During our time at Wittenberg University, the founding BLOOM Africa team had the special opportunity of attending a service learning trip to the country of Lesotho. The trip left profound impacts and emotions in the students who went on the trip. In the spring of 2010, BLOOM Africa was launched as we were wrapping up our final college days.
Today, we continue to strive for the betterment and hope for thousands of orphans and vulnerable children in the mountain kingdom of Lesotho. We wish to not only build off the support of students and alumni who have been to Lesotho, but to also spread our mission to others outside the Wittenberg Community. |
By collaborating with other NGOs working in Lesotho, we have been able to act now and complete multiple projects. And having some knowledge about Lesotho helps: All of our staff members have spent time in Lesotho, and have gotten to know the region over a number of years. At BLOOM Africa, we all work on a volunteer basis, and work with volunteers all around the country who wish to help and make a difference.
We have high hopes for the children of Lesotho, and strive to engage young adults across the United States in planting hope and cultivating a future. We believe that together we can change the world.
